Prof. Dr. Md. Shahadat Hossain, a renound physiatrist specialized in Pain, Paralysis, Arthritis and Rehabilitation Medicine. He was born in 1971 in a dignified Muslim family of Chandpur to the father, Md. Sekandar Khan, and mother, Rokeya Begum. He was the second child in a family of three daughter and three sons. In his personal life he is married and father of one son and one daughter. His wife Dr. Raunak Jahan is an eminent Obstetrician & gynecologist working as a Assistant Professor in government service and currently doing her post graduation degree on Fetomaternal subspecialty in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. He passed SSC from Chandpur Hasan Ali Government High School in 1986 and HSC from Chittagong College in 1988 with merit.

Dr. Shahadat graduated from Sir Salimullah Medical College under Dhaka University in Bangladesh in 1997 and received one year internship training from the same medical college hospital. He was recommended in the BCS examination and joined government service in 2001 and later, he was working in various renowned institutions including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Chattagram Medical College, National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases and Dhaka Medical College. He received six months of clinical training within the department of internal medicine and six month in the department of neuro-medicine followed by two years in the department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the Chittagong Medical College Hospital. He then entered and finished residency training in the department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the Bangabandu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. He acquires FCPS degree in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in January 2006 from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS). He is currently serving as Professor & Head of the Department, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. He was working previously as Principal of Sir Salimullah Medical College and Director (MIS) at DGHS and also Vice Principal of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College. Dr. Shahadat involved in various social and organizational activities. He served as the elected Vice-President (VP) of Sir Salimullah Medical College Student Union (SSMCSU 1996-97).

Dr. Shahadat is a well-known leader and expert in the field of Pain Management and Musculoskeletal Medicine with over 25 years of clinical experience, solid basic medical knowledge, numerous written publications in national and international journals, and a wealth of teaching experience. He attended numerous seminars, symposiums, workshops and conferences at national and international levels. He led rehabilitation services development in Bangladesh and made numerous presentations in national and international conference. He holds multiple certifications in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Management, Sports Medicine, Neuro-Rehabilitation and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound.

Dr. Shahadat expertise is in early and accurate diagnosis of pain, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. He has vast knowledge on comprehensive management including rehabilitation of Rheumatological and neurological disorder. He is expert in image guided injection procedures for pain, minimally invasive procedures for spinal and nerve pain, ultrasound guided joint injection procedures for treating arthritis, and regenerative medicine using PRP to treat arthritis and disc pain. He and his team have successfully treated a lot of patients by alleviating their pain and suffering.
